| Edward Lee Masters authored an exquisite collection of epitaths, all the things the dead might say from their burying place on The Hill. The collection is called Spoon River Anthology and you should read it.
We offer a little hill here for the folks who are leaving Belmont.
Ora Maupin -- a long time resident of Belmont, she contributed her memories to the Porchswings to Patios oral history. She died at the age of 92 on April 26, 2003.
She served as Commissioner of the Revenue for the City of Charlottesville for 45 years. She attended the University Baptist Church and was pianist for the Adult Sunday School.
